I Am Dust

Hopefully you've heard the saying, usually said at funerals, "You are dust and unto dust you shall return."

Why are you dust? Well, the Lord took dust from the ground, breathed into it and created man (Genesis 2:7). The story develops and as most know, man gets kicked out of what was the perfect home, Eden. Man was cast out as soon as he thought of himself as anything more than dust.
Remember that.

"What is man that You are so mindful of him?"
The answer: Dust

I am dust.

What sense does it make to hear that you are dust when you're in your grave when we should be living these words everyday!

Personally, living these words doesn't mean that I walk around with my head hung low, not caring much about my self worth. Never such!! It means that I acknowledge that I am nothing without the Lord who gave me life and died for me on the cross. It means that all that I am and all that I have is by His grace and not by my own hand.
And if that doesn't humble you or keep you grounded (see what I did there), then I don't know what will.

I Am Dust.
Mind you, dust is not insignificant ooo! After all, God chose dust, looked at it and said, "This, this is very good.."

This was inspired by a powerful sermon I heard on Sunday
