For my peace and sanity, just want to know WHY!
Why is it that even after a million people tell you you're beautiful, you'll never forget the one person who told you that you're ugly?
Why is it that even after a million people tell you you're beautiful, you'll never forget the one person who told you that you're ugly?
Why do we obsess over negative comments and thoughts, and desperately try to "fix" and change how we walk, talk, think and dress for someone else's peace and sanity?
Why do we feel validated by someone else's approval and take offence, even if it's just a little, when not everyone agrees with who you are?
Why does it take SO MUCH to be unbothered,
SO MUCH to be "unphased",
SO MUCH to uninterested,
when it should take so little to look in the mirror and appreciate every part of who's staring back so much, that you just don't care..?
Pretty good content, honestly I wish I had an answer for that question but everyone is built that way that's something for sure. The good comments make you happy and all but then that one crappy comment sticks with you and builds up insecurity, it's how we are as humans really I think. Well even people who don't think those comments affect them they may think that they don't care, but it sticks with them
ReplyDeleteGuess it all starts with us. If we can't appreciate and truly love ourselves then we'll always be shattered from negative comments. Yes, people can give you thousands of complements but unfortunately they can fade away. I feel like the reason for this has to be with how we view ourselves individually. If we fail to appreciate ourselves then no amount of complements can change that.
ReplyDeleteVery true. It starts from within. You've gotta learn how to fight the urge to care, and accept that the only opinion that matters is your own. But it's sooo hard. Human nature I guess.
Deleteyes. and a lot of the time the alternative to that is being prideful, if not in your eyes then in the eyes of others. it's like being caught between a rock and a hard place
ReplyDeleteI know right!! The thrills of being human...
